A chance remark from Kim Matthews that she loved ringing Stedman Triples was a good enough excuse to arrange a quarter peal for her. So on Saturday morning, some of our band duly assembled outside her local tower of St John’s Bournemouth along with Tim Martin from Christchurch and former Hampreston ringer John Riley. After a rather nervous couple of false starts, the ringing soon settled down to a good steady rythmn helped along by some fine tenor ringing by Jack in only his first quarter covering to triples. There were very few mistakes and an enjoyable quarter was scored, a fitting compliment to John and Jack who had both celebrated significant birthdays a few days earlier. Well done to Kim and we hope it won’t be another 30 years before her next quarter of Stedman Triples!
